You really need this book if you are interested in applying the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth to your activism. Jesus really was the Son of Freedom, an example for everyone on how to confront the ruling elite, and how to fight for true social, political and spiritual freedom.
This book is about our modern, broken world, and why the message of Jesus of Nazareth is relevant and urgently needed. Jesus’ teachings have greatly influenced the course of history since his brief time on Earth 2000 years ago. Much of his teachings act as a silent witness to the transformation in thinking of modern men and women, who envision a society of equality, freedom and justice.
The original message of Jesus is relevant, vital and also urgently needed in this time of social upheaval, political militancy, economic restructuring and technological control. Jesus of Nazareth taught a way of life that speaks truth to power. His message, and everything he stood for, is a slap in the face to tyrants in every age.
This book is not a revision or re-invention of Jesus’ teachings. It is only the attempt to present his teachings in a fresh way, that applies to our modern society. It is also presented in the context of the worldwide struggle for freedom, civil rights and democracy.
A free society needs a free religion, and the teachings of Jesus can be shown to be a new and better way for our broken world. Jesus’ religion is revolutionary to the individual, liberating to the citizen, motivating to the activist and transforming to the sincere seeker pursuing God with all his heart and soul and mind.
